Portugal outclassed the Republic of Ireland in New Jersey last night (5:1), and the news is certainly that Cristiano Ronaldo was on the field - he played the first match since the Champions League final between Real and Atlético.
CR7 played 65 minutes, during which time he did not score, but coach Paulo Bento was satisfied with having him in the team.
"I think he did a good job, considering he didn't play at all for a while. We all know how important Ronaldo is to us and we're happy to have him," said Bento.
Hugo Almeida scored two goals for Portugal, Vijeirinja and Fabio Coentrao scored one each, as well as Irish defender Richard Kio who shook his own net.
