"Individuals who exercise just a few hours before going to bed are not more susceptible to poor sleep quality than those who do not have such a routine," emphasizes dr. Matthew Bauman, author of a report called "Sleep Medicine."
On the other hand, when looking directly at which training results in the best quality of sleep, early risers who start exercising on the same day get most of the benefits. The problem with timing training early in the morning is that the majority of people simply can't make it to practice due to their other obligations, and yet a good number of them give up on late training precisely because of a prejudice related to sleep.
This analysis has therefore definitively established that even late evening training sessions can be great and not bothersome, and Bauman says:
"Exercise is good for sleep, so you should try to fit exercise into your daily schedule whenever possible."
