Namely, Greece surprised Ukraine away from home with 3:0, so it is first in the table with a maximum of three victories and all nine points, while the second is Ukraine with two victories and six points.
Montenegro is now third with three points, and Norway is last with no points.
If they defeat Norway again on Saturday, away from home, our selection should cheer for Greece to defeat Ukraine again, because in that case they would only be behind by a victory with the Ukrainian women.
If Ukraine gets revenge against Greece, then the leading tandem would escape our selection by two wins, which would be practically an unattainable advantage.
Namely, in that case, our national team would need both victories in January, and maximum ones, against Ukraine away and Greece at home, and for Ukraine or Greece to lose against Norway as well...
As for the match with Norway, Montenegro easily won the first two sets, especially the second, dominating from start to finish in all elements.
However, in the third set there was an incomprehensible drop (albeit usual in volleyball after 2:0), which Norway took advantage of and from 4:3 for Montenegro at the beginning of this set took control of the game and the result for a convincing 25:12 at the end of the set . When they took a 13:9 lead in the fourth set, it seemed that Montenegro had improved their game and caught a run for victory.
However, Norway did not give up, and in the finish it turned around to 21:20, and then came to three set points at 24:21, when it seemed that the winner would be decided by the fifth set.
However, the Norwegians made two consecutive mistakes, and then Tanja Bokan scored a counter to equalize at 24:24. The visitors made a mistake again and gave Montenegro the first match point, but it was not used.
