About 50 competitors are expected to participate in the international 2014-kilometer ultramarathon Montenegro 40, which will be held tomorrow in Podgorica, the organizers announced today.
The Podgorica ultramarathon is being held for the 14rd time, and this year the ultramarathoners will run along Crnogorski Serdara street, next to the Ljubović hill.
The circular course is a kilometer long, and the ultramarathoners will run 50 kilometers for the sixth year in a row.
The time limit for the competition is limited to six hours, so the official result will be valid only for those competitors who cover 50 kilometers during that time.
The ultramarathon will be the official championship of Montenegro, and it is held as part of the Podgorica Running Day event.
As part of the ultramarathon, there are races for students from the first to fourth grade at 400 meters, pioneer girls at 600, pioneers and junior girls at 800, juniors at one thousand meters, senior girls at five thousand and seniors at ten thousand meters.
It was announced that the five and ten kilometer races will be the official road championship of Montenegro.
A throwing meeting will also be held in the Tološka forest, in the shot put, for all ages - the Vojo Vračar memorial, in honor of the prominent Montenegrin athlete.
The ultramarathon is expected to host competitors from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Russia, Slovenia and Montenegro.
The start of the event is scheduled for ten, while the ultramarathoners will start an hour later.
