Montenegro will celebrate World Breathing Day for the first time this year. Activists of the Art of living association will present to young people in a dynamic and entertaining way the importance of the breathing process, as well as the unique techniques, which they could use in everyday life.
"For most adults, breathing is not as effective as it could be, says Olja Nikolić, yoga teacher under the programs of the Art of Living Foundation
According to her, research shows that most people breathe intermittently and superficially.
"Because of this, the body does not receive the necessary amount of oxygen, which leads to a slowdown in the exchange of substances, a decrease in energy and the appearance of health problems. Thus, bad breathing causes or worsens chronic problems, such as asthma, allergies, fatigue, depression, headaches, heart problems , high blood pressure, loss of sleep, stress, poor mental clarity and many other things harmful to the body. In difficult situations, when we are overwhelmed by negative emotions, we usually hold our breath or breathe very shallowly. In such moments, know how to take a deep breath and consciously focus our attention inward , relieves us of stress and enables us to walk through life with a smile".
During the workshops, the Art of Living Foundation teaches breathing techniques to visitors.
