The women's downhill, which was supposed to be held today in the Italian Cortina D'Ampezzo as part of the World Cup, was postponed to Sunday due to a snow storm.
More than 30 centimeters of snow fell in Cortina on Friday, and another blizzard is expected in the Dolomites today.
"We did everything possible, but we don't feel comfortable in this situation. The state of the track is such that we were forced to postpone the race," said Women's World Cup director Atle Skardal, adding that the organizers will try to organize the race in Sunday.
Tomorrow's downhill will therefore be held instead of the super-giant slalom, which will be moved to another time.
Kortina will host the speed races next weekend, instead of Garmisch-Partenkirchen where races were canceled due to lack of snow.
