Officers of the Nikšić police filed a criminal complaint against fellow citizen Dejan Pavićević to the basic state prosecutor, due to the well-founded suspicion that he placed a Molotov cocktail on the hood of police officer Novica Jovović.

The press release states that on July 15, citizens informed the police by phone that there was an improvised explosive device on the hood of Jovović's "Golf", which was parked in Njegoševa Street in Nikšić.

"A police patrol was sent to the scene, which secured the scene until the arrival of the investigation team.... After the investigation, the objects and traces from the scene were sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination. The entire case, including the results of the analyzes and expert opinions of the appropriate experts profession, was submitted to the competent prosecutor, who declared yesterday that in this specific case it is a criminal act of causing general danger in an attempt," the text of the MUP states.

It is explained that overall police measures and actions resulted in the identification of the suspect Pavićević.

"There is a reasonable suspicion that by placing an improvised explosive device - a Molotov cocktail on a vehicle owned by a NJ police officer, the DP attempted to cause danger to the life or body of the NJ police officer and his property, as well as the life or body of other people and property of a larger scale. From the DP "a statement was taken in the police premises of CB Nikšić. The criminal complaint against him was, according to the order of the prosecutor, processed in the regular procedure," the announcement reads.
