Marina Abramović: People in Montenegro live longer and do not age

An unusual meeting with fans was arranged by artist Marina Abramović during a one-hour event called "Ask Me Anything" organized by Reddit.

Abramović answered numerous questions about her career and art, and people were most interested in how she endured the exhausting performance "The Artist is Present" and her relationship with her longtime companion Ulaj.

Ulaj and Marina broke up after meeting on the Great Wall of China, and she said that it was one of the most painful moments in her life.

"I knew it was over, I knew it was the end of a very important period in my life. I just remember that I couldn't stop crying."

Marina explained that Ulaj was not faithful to her and that is why they broke up, and she says that she is not in love and that she is single.

Asked about the most intense emotion she has ever felt, Marina singled out the moment after the performance of "Rhythm 0" when she realized that she had become numb during the performance.

“I never wanted to have children. I never had a biological clock ticking like other women. I always wanted to be an artist and I knew I couldn't divide my energy into anything else. Looking back, I think I made the right decision," Abramović explained her choice when asked if she regrets not realizing herself as a mother.

One of the participants in the conversation wanted to know if Marina is a vampire, because it seems to him that she has not aged at all during the past forty years.

"Soon I will upload photos of my great-grandmother, who was 103 years old, and her mother, who was 116, on the Internet, in order to prove that people from Montenegro live longer and never age."
