"From Futurism to Contemporary Art" is the name of the large art exhibition that will be opened tonight at 20 p.m. in the Collection of Maritime Heritage in the nautical center Porto Montenegro in Tivat. The exhibition consists of more than 100 original works by great artists such as: Skifano, Holliday, Engels, Kunelis, Pascali, Rotella, Maselli, Roy Lichtenstein as well as Andy Warhol.
Among the contemporary artists, the works of Danilo Bući, Kristijan Petrući, Fabrizio Campanella, Michael Kosir, Patricia Pre, Eli Varun, Richard Pitari, Giuliano Giđanti, Giampistone, Eli Đoi, Gabriels and Kant, the founders of the NAJS movement, will be exhibited. Also, three Montenegrin sculptors participate in the exhibition: Adin Rastoder, Željko Reljić and Vlatka Vujošević.
"We wanted to start our artistic journey in Montenegro, where we founded the gallery 'Diomedea Art International', in the right way, so we organized this exhibition in which there are 106 original works that give a cross-section of modern European art and its development during the XNUMXth century.
We gave special emphasis in the exhibition to the works of modern Russian authors, and we are very happy that three artists from Montenegro are also present with their works", said Salvatore Carbone, director of the exhibition and director of the gallery "Diomedea Art" from Rome, at yesterday's press conference. . He added that the preparations for this representative art event were very complex, as evidenced by the fact that the total value of the works that the Montenegrin audience will be able to see in Porto Montenegro in the next month and a half is over five million euros.
"This exhibition is a kind of overview of contemporary art in Italy and Europe, with all the points of contact of futuristic direction and pop art. Futurism and pop art share the same gene, the same thread, to imbue art with life. Pop art took and understood these kind of 'street signs', signs of life and turned it into art. Here, for example, you have Warhol's 'Red Lenin' and 'Conspiracy in Dallas' as a kind of homage to Kennedy, which shows the attention of pop art towards new icons, not related to the then or now existing political divisions in Europe and the world", explained professor Mauricio Scudiero, historian art and exhibition curator. This famous Italian art critic has curated more than 800 exhibitions worldwide, and is the author of more than 700 catalogs and art displays.
He especially emphasized the social involvement of artists of futurism and pop art, accentuating the work "Gathering" by Denis Hoffenheim, an artist known for his fight against drugs and drug addiction. His installation consists of a large spoon filled with a couple of kilos of flour representing cocaine, and nine smaller human figures gathered around it. The figures of people are made of wax, which symbolizes the artist's message that drugs simply burn those who use them.
The exhibition "From Futurism to Contemporary Art" in Porto Montenegro is organized in cooperation with the gallery "Diomedea Art International" from Podgorica, the cultural association MICRO from Rome and the National Museum from Cetinje.
