Nikšić police arrested MP (41) from Nikšić, from whom they found and seized about 34 kilograms of skunk.
"Officers of CB Nikšić, together with officers of the Nikšić Drug Suppression Group, acting on the basis of operational data, found MP in the town of Petrovići - Nikšić Municipality carrying two sacks, in which there were 34 packages containing plant material for which it was established suspected to be skank type marijuana, weighing about 34 kg. The MP was detained, and the Senior State Prosecutor in Podgorica was informed of the incident," the Police Directorate announced.
It is added that the family house of the MP was also searched, where weapons and ammunition were found and temporarily confiscated - two hunting rifles and two leather rifles with a total of 27 bullets. Three sets of "Motorola talkabout" handheld radios were also found.
The suspect MP was handed over to the Deputy High State Prosecutor in Podgorica, along with a criminal complaint, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. The prosecutor issued a detention decision for the MoJ.
The skunk, weapon and ammunition were sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination.
