On the occasion of World Poetry Day on March 21, the NGO Vive L'Art and the Informal Group of Poets, Students and Citizens will organize a poetry gathering on Trg Republike in Podgorica from 13 to 17 p.m. The special guest will be the poet and member of "Blok auta" Nikola Vranjković.
"All over the world, March 21 is celebrated as Poetry Day and many poets are waiting for that day so that, by publicly reading their latest poetic works, they can present their work to a large number of people," said organizer Jovana Stojanović.
"Poets, female poets and reciters will have the opportunity to celebrate this great day and to share their verses with the citizens of Podgorica, as well as to remind us of the verses of the poets we admire. This event would be a great opportunity for the affirmation of Montenegrin poets and a great cultural event for Podgorica, which could grow into a tradition," said Stojanović.
"Elementary students will have the opportunity to present their first works. After that, poetry will be read by unestablished Montenegrin poets, students and high school students. Visitors will have the opportunity to socialize with Montenegrin contemporary poets and poets whose registration for participation is still in progress," she announced. organizer.

On the occasion of the World Poetry Day, the "Sonnet Evening" will be held in the Library of the Gymnasium "Slobodan Škerović" at 19:30 p.m. The verses of the most famous poets of this refined poetic form will be spoken by members of the recital section, Ivan Radović and Nevena Petrović. "Evening of Sonnets" will be a kind of anthology of this lyrical form, and the sonnets of Dante, Petrarca, Shakespeare, Baudelaire, as well as the South Slovenian poets Prešern, Dučić, Ujević, Zogović will be recited.
Date "21 March" was declared by UNESCO as World Poetry Day in 1999 with the aim of promoting the reading, writing, publication and promotion of poetry around the world.
