Furtula won the silver medal at the European Winter Throwing Cup

Montenegrin athlete Danijel Furtula won a silver medal in the shot put for younger seniors at the European Winter Throwing Cup in Castellón, Spain.

On the second day of the competition, Furtula threw the shot 18 meters and 18 centimeters and set a new Montenegrin record.

This is 48 centimeters better than his previous record, which he set on March 10 in Bar at the Winter Throwers' Cup.

The competitor from Tara from Mojkovac, who won the gold medal in the discus throw yesterday, threw the record shot in the last, sixth series.

14 competitors took part in the shot put final for junior seniors.

The first place went to the Swede Danijel Stahal with a result of 18,63 meters, while the third was won by the Russian Maksim Afonina who threw the shot put 18 meters.

"At the beginning of the season, Furtula achieved a remarkable success by winning a gold medal in the discus, as well as a silver in the shot put with a new Montenegrin record.
