Montenegrin athlete Danijel Furtula won the gold medal in the discus throw at the European Winter Throwing Cup for the second time in a row, in the junior senior competition.
He won gold last year in Bar as well, and took first place at the competition in the Spanish city of Castellón with a shot of 62,10 meters.
Furtula threw the decisive shot in the discus final, in the competition of 16 competitors, in the third series.
Ukrainian Mikita Nesterenko took second place with a result of 61,66 meters.
The Ukrainian thrower has a personal record of 65 meters.
The bronze medal went to the Italian Eduardo Albertazzi with a result of 60,69 meters.
A record number of 39 countries with 249 competitors are participating in the European Cup in throwing.
Furtula will throw the shot put tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. and try to break the personal and Montenegrin mark of 17,70 meters.
The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, and the President of the Athletics Association, Milorad Vuletić, congratulated the athlete Tara from Mojkovac on his success.
