Organized by the Center for the Preservation of the Culture of Minorities of Montenegro, in the middle of December, an independent exhibition of art works by the Montenegrin artist of the younger generation Abaz Dizdarevic (Bijelo Polje, 1978) was organized in the SULUJ gallery in Belgrade.

Dizdarević graduated (2002) and completed his master's studies (2010) at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje. So far, he has had thirteen independent exhibitions, and he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions in the country and abroad. He is a member of ULUCG and its vice president, a member of ULUBIH (Sarajevo) and a member of SULU (Novi Pazar).

He was an associate at the FLU in Cetinje, he is an assistant professor at the University of Novi Pazar and head of the "Ratković's poetry evening", he lives and works in Bijelo Polje. The current exhibition is accompanied by a very representative color catalog with an introductory text written by the undersigned.

In addition to drawing modalities, Dizdarević directs special attention to the modeling of small and larger forms

In the exhibition space (SULUJ gallery) in the very center of the city, twelve gallery-format paintings were presented that were created using the oil technique on prepared canvas and five smaller drawings that were created using the combined technique on watercolor paper, and the works were created in the last fifteen years.

When Dizdarević's current fine art is comprehensively considered, and if it is visualized more deeply and analyzed analytically, we arrive at a magical sentence that deciphers his meaningful and inspired creativity. That magical triad consists of three key concepts, light-matter-universe.

Even at first glance, it is clear that Dizdarević's recent art belongs to the spheres of the figurative. In fact, human and animal figures are situated in the center of his paintings in a metaphysical setting.

Homoid-zoomorphic bodies and figures are symbiotically intertwined in hubs, which together with the petrified soil, form a compact morphological amalgam. Just as in a mirage, from the petrified open sea, mythical creatures such as a colossus, bull, fish, snake, frog, bird or reptile emerge from the sea.

For the most part, almost all of his drawings are independent creations

However, in his overall painting odyssey, Dizdarević deals deeply with the fundamental artistic attribute, actually the phenomenon of light, its source, intensity and final effects. Certainly, light is one of the most important elements of the overall fine art.

Dizdarević's composition is very studied, very well-balanced and skillfully balanced, and it is founded on significant drawing experience. The names of Dizdarević's explicates are poeticized and ambiguous, but their mental-meaningful weft is overpowered by essential artistic regularities.

In addition to drawing modalities, Dizdarević directs special attention to the modeling of small and larger forms, which are predominantly rounded and expanding, and which multiply and symbiotically interpenetrate. In almost all of his works, cosmic nebulae and numerous constellations appear, however, he does not especially cherish extended views and deepened perspectives.

All thematic and artistic events take place in the foreground, within arm's reach. On a flat background, abiotic-ornamental fragments are registered segmentally, as symbols of historical-cultural duration. Many of his works are irresistibly reminiscent of longitudinal bas-reliefs, whose shapes and forms are abundantly bathed in intense beams of light.

Dizdarević also presented himself on this occasion as a very mature and thoughtful creator

During the immediate artistic execution, Dizdarević globally defines the basic drawing matrix on the painter's plane with a thin brush and dark linearity, and then applies dense and pasty chromatic matter. In the following stages, he models and paints structural shapes and forms almost sculpturally, with a liquid substance.

On this occasion, he directs special attention to chromatic modalities, very subtle valerian relationships and vibrant light oscillations. Dizdarević's drawings were created using a combined technique on paper, and they use black and white ink, dark crayons, colored pencils, and gouache-corrective light smears.

For the most part, almost all of his drawings are independent creations, and during their realization, Dizdarević often thinks about his future painting solutions. It should be emphasized that his drawings and paintings are part of an identical thematic-artistic whole and that they certainly represent an extremely solid and compact visual-artistic sublimate.

Dizdarević also presented himself on this occasion as a very mature and thoughtful creator, and the works he presented certainly secure him a prominent place on the Montenegrin contemporary art scene.
