First electric chair execution in Tennessee since 2007: Zagorski believes death will be faster

In the American state of Tennessee, prisoner Edmun Zagorski will be executed today in the electric chair.

He was convicted of a double murder in 1984, according to AP, as reported by Tanjug.

Zagorski chose to be executed in the electric chair after his lethal injection protocol lawsuit was dismissed.

His lawyers said that Zagorski believes that death in the electric chair will be faster, but that he maintains that both the electric chair and lethal injection are unconstitutional methods of execution.

In the USA, the last time a prisoner was executed on the electric chair was in 2013 in the federal state of Virginia.

In 2007, Darryl Holton also chose to be executed in the electric chair in Tennessee.
