The play "Investigation" based on the text by Aleksandar Radunović and directed by Stefan Sablić will be performed on Monday, November 5, on the Great Stage of the Montenegrin National Theater. The play tells the story of the origin of evil in man, and the main role is played by Dušan Kovačević. In addition to him, Srđan Grahovac, Danilo Čelebić, Aleksandar Gavrić, Ana Vučković, Nikola Perišić, Gojko Burzanović, Stevan Radusinović, Marko Todorović also play in the play.
Kovačević plays God in the play, and when asked how difficult this role was, he answers:
"It's not easy to be God, not even for one hour," the actor admits.
Given that the audience perceives this play as a comedy, do they get the point easily in the end?
Usually an audience that is versed in the Bible and some religious matters understands the play. Christianity is not in the foreground, but in the foreground is man's struggle in this world and what God has given him, and what he managed to do by himself. So, the audience not only understands the play, but also enjoys it, which can be seen by the reactions. The show is not long, it is very entertaining and educational and what every theater show should have.
The inspiration of the play was the question of the nature and origin of evil in man, do you manage to answer this question during the play?
It is very difficult to answer that question, especially in such a short time and in one theater piece. It certainly requires years or centuries of talking, changing us as people. God gave us purity, and as it is said in the play, man was born to be good, and he corrupted his performance on earth with the original fall. In that line, it is said how each of us, when we find ourselves in a problem and a critical situation, comes out better or worse. In most cases, we saw that the writer also said that it corrupts man, and I think that despite all the evils that are around us, that it was all created by man and not by anyone else.
How many performances of the play "Investigation" have been performed so far, have you performed it outside the theater, and is the audience's reaction always the same?
I don't know how many games there were because I didn't count. If I played for a fee I would know for sure, I'm not interested like this. It is important that the play lives on, that we look forward to playing it, that the hall is almost always full and that the audience enjoys it. We didn't play outside of Podgorica, I don't know why, and now I'm wondering too.
