Two policemen from Plužine, Goran Vuković and Dragutin Radojičić, confirmed the allegations of police inspector Zoran Bulatović, accused of the murder of Aleksandar Pejanović, that members of the paramilitary formations of the Republika Srpska in 1993 in Šćepan Polje, for no reason, assaulted them and that it was for them. was a traumatic experience, which left consequences on their psyche.
The criminal panel of the judge of the High Court in Podgorica, Vesna Moštrokol, accepted the proposal of the defendant's defense and ordered a psychiatric examination of Bulatović, which will determine whether the defendant suffers from mental illness or other disorders, and whether a possible disorder existed at the time of the commission of the criminal act.
Bulatović is accused of deliberately killing Pejanović in the garden of the "Lido" restaurant with a shot from a pistol at the end of May last year, after a short argument.
Vuković and Radojičić said that Bulatović, as a patrol leader, worked with them in late 1992 and early 1993 at the Šćepan Polje border crossing, and that they well remembered the event from that period when 15,16 members of the RS paramilitary formations entered the the territory of Montenegro.
They explained that the procedure at that time was to temporarily confiscate weapons from everyone who crossed the border, until they left the country.
"We took 16 automatic rifles from them. I personally examined the weapons and found that there was a bullet in the barrel of four rifles," Vuković said.
They noted that 90 percent of those soldiers who mistreated them that day later answered before the Hague Tribunal for war crimes, and most of them before the war for murders.
His colleague Radojičić added that they said that they had come to have a drink to relax, that after spending some time in a tavern, they came to the crossing to take their weapons and go, but that they changed their minds.
"They entered the bar armed, stood at the bar and were visibly intoxicated when they asked us to sit down with them for a drink, which we refused. That's where the chaos started," said Radojicic.
Vuković said that when the provocation started, they did not react, that they started cursing, insulting and shouting at Bulatović "who are you, what are you going to do, we will kill you tonight".
"Their main man Gojko Janković grabbed Bulatović by the neck, there is a general commotion, I hear gunshots in front of the building and someone's voice saying that they are going to kill us all. One of them tried to kill Bulatović with a gun, I grabbed his hand and stopped him, at that moment someone hit me in the head with an automatic rifle," said Vuković.
He added that then, even though he was dazed, he saw that seven, eight of them were hitting Bulatović with what they got, that he felt someone put a gun to his forehead, after which he was thrown outside.
"Bulatović was in a serious condition, covered in blood, with head injuries. We were all scared and hurt. I then wanted to go after them to kill them all, but I listened to Zoran who told me not to go"
"I entered the room from the other side of the building and while I was there I heard the cook begging them not to kill Bulatović. I don't know how much time passed, when I heard a voice again saying "let's kill this one too". Then I thought that Zoran was already dead, and that there was no way out for me either," said Vuković.
Radojičić, who said that he managed to get out of the bar at the moment when the chaos broke out, and that he was pushing in front with one of them who shot above him because he slipped on the ice, stated that he did not see Bulatović being mistreated, but that later he saw that he was all cut up and bloody, which was also confirmed by Vuković.
"Bulatović was in a serious condition, covered in blood, with head injuries. We were all scared and hurt. I then wanted to go after them to kill them all, but I listened to Zoran who told me not to go," said Vuković.
When asked by Deputy Senior State Prosecutor Ljiljana Lakić when they made an official note about that event, they said that they did it immediately the next day, because they were unable to write it that evening.
Radojičić added that a week earlier Bulatović had taken a gun that she wanted to bring in from a lady, who they later found out was in a relationship with some of the members of the paramilitary formation.
At the previous hearing, Lakić had objections to the official notes read, because they were made in October last year, which is why the witnesses Vuković and Radojičić were called.
They mentioned that 90 percent of those soldiers who mistreated them that day later answered before the Hague Tribunal for war crimes, and most of them before the war for murders.
The trial continues on November XNUMX.
Motive to take the gun?
When asked by the defendant's lawyer, Zdravko Begović, what could have been the motive for this behavior of the soldiers from the RS, Vuković stated that they were not provoked by anything, and that the motive could have been that they were police officers and that they performed their work honorably and honestly.
Radojičić added that a week earlier, Bulatović had taken away a gun that she wanted to bring in from a lady, who they later found out was in a relationship with some of the members of the paramilitary formation, which could have been the motive for the attack on them.
