The start of the trial on the private lawsuit of the executive director of the Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector, Vanja Ćalović, against the former member of the Board of Directors of Željezara AD Nikšić Danijela Brol, accused of giving a false statement, has been postponed again, because the defendant has not been found in Montenegro.
Podgorica Basic Court judge Maja Zeković requested that Brol be sent a summons to an address in London through international legal aid and scheduled the trial for December XNUMX.
The judge read a letter from the Nikšić police stating that Brol does not have a registered residence in that city and that he had a registered temporary residence from September to November 2010.
Ćalović accuses Brol that, in the criminal proceedings in which she was acquitted of defamation, following a private lawsuit by MNSS BV from Amsterdam and Željezara from Nikšić, in the capacity of a witness, he gave a false statement with the intention of causing her harm and causing a conviction.
"Brol claimed that off shore companies are overseas companies and that the daughter company of Željezara Nikšić in Amsterdam is not an off shore company, that Željezara from Nikšić for 2009 paid all taxes and contributions when due, that due to Ćalović's statement the installation of equipment at Željezara is delayed and that the development of the company is not as expected because the people with whom the company did business have lost confidence in the company," the indictment states, among other things.
Ćalović also filed a criminal complaint against the deputy primary state prosecutor Zoran Vučinić, who believed that there was no basis for prosecuting Brol, ex officio, for giving a false statement.
