Dijana Vujović from Cetinje, daughter of Luka Vujović, who broke his hip in an incident with a local taxi driver last Friday, claims that witnesses in the criminal proceedings will confirm what happened that day in Bajova street.
“My father is the injured party in this incident. Although I am not a witness to this event, I can say that he is a patient, who has been living with asthma associated with dyspnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for 15 years. Cetinje is a small town with beautiful streets, and it has been more than a decade since my father walked through them. In spring due to linden trees and pollen, in summer due to heat, and in winter the cold air is again a frequent trigger for an asthmatic attack.
Daily activities such as dressing, eating, and even speaking cause lack of air for him. That's why he asked the taxi driver to open his front window, because he waited in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes, since the taxi driver went to the wrong hospital exit by mistake. My father probably asked them to go faster that day, because he forgot his 'berodual' pump in the hospital," claims Vujović, who has been living and working in Chicago for five years.
She stated all this, as she claims, because she was shocked by the statements of the taxi driver Ibrahim Canović that her father "flailed with his hands, chased him ten circles around the car and jumped out of the window" that day.
“Ran ten laps? Jumped into the car through the door window? 50 people watched all that? In all my pain and trouble, and concern for my father who had a difficult and complicated operation today, I still had to laugh. Unfortunately, I don't remember my father in such good health that he could run, so the statement that he ran ten laps reminds me of some New Year's interview, which our people from Cetinje (The Books of Books) recorded to make fun of the people.
Running and jumping out of a car window is mostly associated with scenes from American action movies. And 50 people watched all that? On a hot August afternoon around 14.30:XNUMX p.m., when the incident happened on all the streets of Cetinje, it would be hard to count so many people," said the woman from Cetinje.
"Thank God, there were witnesses, and I thank them in this way. They showed that, despite such incidents, there are still people living in Cetinje who received and learned moral values from the older generations of Cetinje. Such cruel and mindless actions will never and must not be covered up. Everyone who has read the taxi driver's statement, and knows at least one seriously ill lung patient, will conclude that the taxi driver may be short-tempered and intolerant of customers' demands, but with a sense of humor. With humor at someone else's expense", concluded Vujović.
The Cetinje police filed a criminal complaint against Canović on suspicion that last Friday he hit Vujović's leg twice, who fell on the pavement in Bajova street and broke his hip.
