Montenegrin athlete Danijel Furtula said that it is a great honor and privilege for him that as one of the youngest members of the Olympic team and the youngest among the discus throwers, he is performing at the Olympic Games (OI) in London.
He pointed out that it was a great success that at the age of 19 he managed to win the Olympic standard and earned the right to perform in London.
"It will be a great experience and a great school for me. "I am young enough to have some ambitions in terms of competing in my discipline, but I will definitely give my best and show that my time is coming," Furtula told the MINA agency.
According to him, the fulfilled norm for the London Games is another passed test as a necessary knowledge for achieving new goals.
"My main goal next year is the Junior Senior European Championship, where, as before, with the support of the Athletics Federation of Montenegro, I will try to win one of the medals," said Furtula.
He will join the Montenegrin delegation in the Olympic village on July 29.
The discus throw is scheduled for August 6 and 7.
Furtula is the European junior vice-champion and the winner of the winter thrower's cup in Bar.
He is the record holder of Montenegro with a result of 63,79 meters, with which he fulfilled the Olympic norm.
