The dedication to Carlo Goldoni, an Italian comedy writer from the beginning of the XNUMXth century, which Grad Teatar is making this summer with its co-productions, brought to our audience after "The Tavern of Mirandolina" and "Fishermen's Feud", one of his most performed plays.
This Mediterranean comedy, read as a story about the relationship between the government and the people, written by the director Ana Vukotić, a co-production of the Budva Festival and the Montenegrin National Theater from Podgorica, is actually a Goldoni the likes of which we have probably never seen before - a serious, sad and difficult picture about ourselves and today we live.
Director Ana Vukotić and the entire cast and author team of "Fishermen's Quarrels" - Momčilo Pićurić, Ratka Mugoša, Ana Vučković, Simo Trebješanin, Momčilo Otašević, Dragan Mićanović, Varja Đukić, Nada Vukčević, Bojana Malinovska, Zoran Vujović, Mišo Obradović, Dragan Gagi Jovanović .
For Dragan Mićanović, the Prime Minister, and the reaction of the viewers showed that they fulfilled the promise they made when announcing the "Fishermen's Quarrels" - they made a brave and painful story about us and the government. But, as he says, his character, shor Fortunato, is beyond that.
"Fortunata is not overly interested in that power, he just wants to enjoy it, and others don't allow him. But, those intrigues that we do to each other, that we can't solve without the help of someone from above, that's what's terrible. Because, that someone "from above" is always arrogant, greedy, and the end of this play is quite striking. There is a sentence that the whole Crime says - if they won't by grace, then by force, and every now and then they show us that they are stronger and more powerful than us small, ordinary people. But, "We are not much better than the authorities either, because we agree to everything - we get undressed and take off our underpants. And that is one of the messages of this play," Mićanović points out.
"Vukotić is always looking for something serious and deeper"
Mišo Obradović, who was striking as Tofolo, said that he knew that working with Ana Vukotić would not bring a "summer cocktail show".
"I have nothing against them, but she is always looking for something underneath, something serious and deeper, and then her signature sadness at the end of "Fishermen's Quarrels" is quite logical. It seems to me that this is why I was selected in that division somewhere, I think that we she believes in that sense that I understand her ideas, as well as mine. And I imagined Tofola as some kind of local vagabond, a city adversary whose greatest sin is when he grabs a woman's ass. In the end, however, we see his seriousness, as well as the fact that it is for as soon as we long for somewhere human."
Stevan Radusinović created a "little pearl" in the image of the Serviceman at the Prosecutor's Office:
"In general, it is interesting for me in the theater to do these small character, comic roles and I ask the directors to give me these small tasks on which I spend a lot of time. That is somewhere in my theatrical path. And the character I play here speaks about that state apparatus , about everyone who is obedient, contributes to manipulation and lives over people - they despise everyone who is not in power. Comedies are, in fact, very simple, but because of their simplicity they are also the most difficult, and they are often genius."
Varja Đukić, Šjora Libera, once again delighted the audience in Budva:
"This is a real ensemble performance and I like that in addition to very good direction, choreography, music, some kind of histrionics had to come into consideration, and here in Budva it proved to be something very important. That histrionics has its place - smart the director's concept managed to use this piece to tell a good, simple, accurate and painful story about us and about our acceptance of what we live and to make a link with today's times"

Eternal, same relationship
Dragan - Gagi Jovanović, who delighted the audience with the character of Isidor, a criminal investigator, said that they went further than Goldoni.
"What was written by him was intended for some people in the XNUMXth century, when there was not so much need for such important theatrical messages, because it was important for the audience to have a good laugh. That's why we had to research, to see what we would give we are talking from that "template" of his, that's what I can call his "Fishermen's Quarrels". We have found our story, that certain path of ours, and that we have "traveled" it well.
"That moment that we deal with in the play lasts almost indefinitely - since there is a man, there is also a government, and I am glad that Ana Vukotić and I immediately found ourselves on the same "wavelength". My task in "Fishermen's Quarrels" is to present that government, its arrogance, cruelty, some total inattention to the people, even some kind of disgust at that "variety" that walks the streets, as if they are some "lower beings". And the people always deserve the power they have, that's an old saying and it is so. But, those people are like lost sheep, they must have a leader, and whoever gets hold of them, is a fraud."
