Montenegrin boxer Nenad Marković won the gold medal, while Edin Alković and Milovan Sekulović had to settle for silver medals at the international youth tournament in Mostar.
In the final match of the category up to 56 kilograms, Marković defeated his representative friend, Damir Alković, 3:2.
On the way to the final, he eliminated the local fighter Nedim Hodžić and last year's European champion, the Russian Vsjevolod Šumkov.
In the final of the category up to 75 kilograms, Mića Sekulović lost to the Russian Sergej Sergeev 4:1. That match was declared the most competitive in the tournament.
Stevan Sjekloća up to 69 and Viktor Mihailović up to 81 kilograms secured the bronze medals by placing in the semi-finals.
Coach Boško Drašković said that the Montenegrin national team is the most successful participant in the tournament after Russia.
"I am satisfied with the performance of our boxers. Marković achieved three victories, and in the semi-final he defeated last year's European champion. Alković eliminated the official vice-champion of Europe in the semi-final. Sekulović achieved two victories, but lost the tied final match," said Drašković to the MINA agency. He also reminded that Mihailović should have defeated the Macedonian Sergen Gemirov in the semi-finals and qualified for the final. "The Vojvodina Golden Glove awaits us soon, where we will perform with seven boxers," Drašković said.
