The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica submitted to the Regional Authority for Misdemeanors a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against businessman Veselin Barović and his bodyguards Marinko Banović and Radisav Živković for the attack on the journalist and editor of "Presa" for Montenegro Marko Milačić at the beginning of April in the "Najs vajs" bar. .
The prosecutor's office believes that Barović committed the offense of "endangering security or causing a feeling of being threatened by a threat", which is punishable by a fine of 300 to 1.000 euros or imprisonment for up to 60 days, and his bodyguards the offense of physical assault, which carries a penalty of 500 to 1.000 euros or imprisonment for up to 60 days.
Milacic believes that the attack on him cannot be qualified as a misdemeanor, but only as a criminal offense.
"The time will soon come when all these threats, attacks and murders will be translated into a single punishment against them and their huge, but actually too small boss and master," said Milacic.
He adds that the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, before forwarding the case files to the Regional Authority for Misdemeanors, brutally violated the law by not allowing it to inspect and copy the files.
"After my emergency, they still allowed me to do it, but in even more violation of the law - they copied the papers they consider necessary, all but the most important, Veselin Barović's statement, and in addition they did not allow me to see the original documents, which is an unsung violation of the law. However, the time will soon come, and they have a good sense of it, when all these threats, attacks and murders will be translated into a single punishment against them and their huge, but actually too petty boss and master," said Milačić.
