Montenegrin athletes Marija Vuković and Danijel Furtula left today for preparations for the next season, the Athletics Association of Montenegro announced.

As stated in the notification from the ASCG, after preparations in Cyprus (she spent a month in Limassol), Marija Vuković traveled to South Africa, where she will complete the second phase of preparations according to the planned plan until January 6 in order to meet the Olympic standard.

With Marija, of course, will be her coach, the famous Dragutin Topić, as well as the Serbian athletes, Biljana Topić (triple jump) and Tatjana Jelača (javelin throw), whose coach Topić is, and who have already met the norm for the London Games. .

Furtula traveled with coach Danilo Krtinić to Medulin, Croatia, to the winter base of the throwers, where for the next 15 days they will perform a special phase of preparation for the European Winter Throwers' Cup, which will be held in Bar on March 17 and 18. ASCG announced that Furtula was a candidate for the best young athlete of Montenegro in 2011.

In 2011, he won second place at the 21st European Junior Championship in Tallinn, in the discus throw with a result of 63,54 meters, which is a new Montenegrin record in the junior competition. In 2011, Furtula set Montenegrin records seven times, twice in the shot put and three times in the discus throw in the junior competition and twice in the senior competition in the discus throw.

On the list of the European Athletics Federation in the discus throw, he is in second place, and on the list of the World Athletics Federation in the discus throw, only the Jamaican Traves Smeikl and the Austrian Lukas Weischeidinger are better than him.

Furtulu is only 2,85 meters away from the "B" Olympic standard.
