With the concert of the children's choir of the Serbian Singing Society "Jedinstvo" from Kotor, in the Cathedral, on May 7 at 20 p.m., the seven-day spiritual and cultural event "Days of Saint Basil of Ostrog" begins, which has been held in Nikšić since 2000, organized by the Diocese of Buda Nikšić and Church Municipality of Nikšić.
At the press conference, the deacon, Dr. Nikola Marojević, presented this year's event, as part of which the book "Spiritual Poetics of Father Lazar" will be promoted, by the author Mati Jelena, the abbess of the monastery Ćelija Piperska, the diocesan magazine "Sveviđe", as well as the promotion of books by the publishing house. As part of the Day of St. Vasilij Ostroški will be awarded the "Izviiskra Njegoševa" literary award, to poet Ranko Jovović.
The writer Milutin Mićović reminded that the award, which was founded in 2008 by the Diocese of Budamlje-Nikšić and the company "Mona", is awarded every other year and that "it is given to the best creators, marked with the national care sign".
"The award will be presented on May 11 by Bishop Joanikije, who will speak about the poetry of Ranko Jovović. Jovović's poetry will also be discussed by the president of the award jury, prof. Dr. Jovan Delić and the president of Matica Srpska Ivan Negrišorac", said Mićović.
He reminded that the previous winners of the award are Miodrag Pavlović, Rajko Petrov Nogo, Metropolitan of Amfilohije, Milovan Danojlić and Ljubomir Simović.
"The days of St. Basil have that cultural and spiritual dimension, marked and marked by Njegoš and with St. Basil they keep vertical and life and people and us contemporaries in these strange contradictions in Montenegro even today," said Mićović.
