Only a month after giving birth, our athlete Slađana Perunović started training again and successfully returned to the sports field and says that she is particularly proud of herself because of that: she managed to get back in top shape with her will and strength of character.
She says she had a similar feeling when, at the recently held Podgorica marathon, in the last 3 km, she saw that she was close to the norm, gave her all and achieved the result.
He states that athletics is one of the healthiest sports.
"An example is athletics veterans who engage in athletics in their later years and thus prolong their lives," says Slađana.
Speaking about the health benefits of that sport, Slađana says that running is also recommended for people who have problems with the cardiovascular system, and in that she sees the advantage of doing athletics.
She notes that she always adheres to the principles of a healthy lifestyle, is physically active, takes care of proper nutrition, recovery, discipline in work and rest.
"I never deviate from those habits. If that happens, I will make sure that it is within the minimum limits", says the multiple champion of Montenegro.
He believes that our awareness of the importance of physical activity is not sufficiently developed.
"But every day there are more and more recreational people who have realized that this is the best way to live a healthy and long life," she says.
20 days off for the year
She trains twice a day, and only takes a break if she is too tired or because of a trip.
During the year, there are only about 20 days off.
"I eat healthy, because my activity requires it. If I don't respect it, there is no success. Due to a lot of physical activity, I have no problem with my weight. I mostly use energy-rich foods. I especially avoid concentrated food," says Slađana.
For people who have weight problems, Perunović notes that it is important to be as physically active as possible and that this activity lasts more than half an hour, because only after half an hour do we start taking energy from fat, and until then only energy from sugar is used.
It is guided by the slogan "in a healthy body, a healthy mind", because, as it says, if you are physically active, you are certainly healthier and can more easily overcome obstacles and stress if they arise.
Athlete Slađana Perunović is the first in the history of Montenegrin athletics to meet the Olympic standard in the marathon and will participate in the Olympic Games next year in London.
