The modern way of life is fast, stressful, with less and less time for physical activity and movement.
In addition, an improper diet also results in poor sleep.
Experts warn that all this is reflected in the increased number of cardiovascular, respiratory and cancerous diseases, and it is known that prevention is still the best health method.
It is an easy way to a healthy life
The fitness coach of the karate national team of Montenegro, Dario Ivanović, M.Sc., however, believes that the path to a healthy life is easy.
- There must be no excuses, because everyone can afford half an hour of recreation three times a week. That, along with the variety of food, is a recipe for a person to feel good. Coach's advice is also important for recreation. You should consult a trainer, who will determine the type of recreational exercise. Today, there are a large number of various recreational programs, so everyone can choose the one that suits them best. Recreational exercise, therefore, must not be a waste of free time, but must be understood as fun and leisure in order to improve working condition - advises Ivanovic.
Although young, Ivanovic successfully applied his competitive experiences from tatami mats and college to the preparation of the Montenegrin karate team, which won the gold medal in Melaka, and overall tenth place in the overall championship standings in Malaysia.
He says that excessive effort should not be allowed during recreation, such as athletes who "expose themselves to efforts close to the limit of functional abilities" during training.
- That would be fatal for people who are not actively involved in sports - Ivanović warns.
An athlete, he says, consumes twice as many calories per day as a working man.
When it comes to nutrition, he states that "specialized nutrition with supplements, diagnostics" is necessary.
- In any case, it is impossible to consume 3.500 to 4.000 calories a day only through a traditional diet and be in full training. Our food is, to say the least, "heavy", and for athletes only up to ten percent of fat is recommended, mostly proteins and carbohydrates should be represented. The fact that the best swimmer of all time, the American Michael Phelps, consumes up to 6.000 calories a day during the training process confirms how important the proper nutrition of an athlete is - Ivanović said.
Get your body in top shape
Talking about what are the essential prerequisites that lead a top athlete to results, Ivanovic says that "there must be no improvisation". - In order to be competitive and at the top, an athlete must bring his body to top form, so that he can even hope for success. The basis for success is great physical preparation, which is a long-term training process aimed at developing and improving the psychosomatic status of the athlete, with the aim of achieving the form necessary for a successful performance - notes Ivanović.
