An authentic exhibition of mosaics by the artist from St. Stefan, Jovan Paka Kentera, was opened the night before last in a new space in Budva - A club, where numerous cultural and entertainment events will be organized in the coming period.
Kentera's exhibition was part of the cultural program prepared by the organizers, in which the doyen of Serbian theater Voja Brajović performed, and in the musical part, the famous guitar duo Darko Nikčević and Srđan Bulatović.
14 works were presented at the exhibition, mostly from students of the first cycle of the mosaic school, which is run by Kentera at Sveti Stefan, the first of its kind in this region.
"We are continuing the mosaic school this year, and it will start again soon. About 20 participants passed the first cycle, both from Montenegro, Russia and Ukraine. We expect to make a lot of new mosaics by the next season, and our idea is to organize a big exhibition before the season, where the works of new students will be presented", said Kentera.
He explained that the exhibition is a support for the new cultural space in Budva and is also just an announcement of the new cycle of the mosaic school.
"From November 10, we are continuing the school, where participants will learn the direct technique of creating mosaics from natural stone. It is about the creation of so-called applied mosaics", said Kentera.
Jovan Paka Kentera has been recognized for years as an authentic artist from this area, who revived the practically forgotten mosaic.
He creates works from various stones, and thus unique mosaics with the most diverse motifs, colors and shades are created.
Kentera's mosaics, which could be seen the night before last night, are made of stone, and various motifs are represented on them. Different sizes of mosaics, the use of different colors of stone, as well as a large number of processed topics, allow mosaics to fit harmoniously into various surfaces of the living and working space.
Club A has ambitious plans to make the cultural and entertainment scene in Budva as attractive as possible with numerous events, especially during the winter months.
