The Director of the Police Administration of Montenegro, Veselin Veljović, and the Director of the Federal Police Administration of BiH, Dragan Lukač, announced at today's meeting that memorandums of cooperation will soon be signed, which will strengthen the fight against corruption and organized crime, drugs, terrorism and financial crime.
Lukač, at the press conference after the meeting with his Montenegrin colleague Veselin Veljović, said that the police of the two countries arrest criminals every day.
"There will be arrests. First of all, I am thinking of the carriers of organized crime, specifically in connection with narcotic drugs. The doors of our police force are wide open for cooperation. When two police directors meet and agree, criminals do not feel safe.
The fight against organized crime will be intensified," said Lukač. The meeting of the directors of the two police departments was also attended by BiH Ambassador to Montenegro Izmir Talić.
"I believe that the leaders of organized crime who operate in this area will follow our meeting and will not be very happy that we are discussing these issues today," Lukač believes.

He said at the meeting that it was about the Kosovo businessman Naser Keljmendi, and the information about him will be combined with the information of the police of neighboring countries.
"Naser Keljmendi (51) is currently the head of the strongest Albanian criminal family in the Balkans, which operates from Peja and Sarajevo.
Keljmendi, who is reputed to be the main Balkan drug lord, controls the smuggling of large quantities of cocaine and heroin from Turkey, through Kosovo to Western Europe, from the "Casa grande" hotel in Ilidža, Blic wrote earlier.
Veljović said that he also spoke with Lukač about the Kalić and Šarić cases, but he was quite "stubborn" about that in front of the media.
Foreigners are known only if they are claimed
He also spoke the case of Rajka Kaluđerović, who was raped and killed by Serbian citizen Borivoje Jovanović, he said that the activities of the police regarding foreigners in Montenegro are defined by the Law on Foreigners.
"We do not always have information that a person is a perpetrator of a criminal act, we as the security service do not always have information, and neither do our colleagues for Montenegrin citizens that someone is going through criminal and misdemeanor records," Veljović pointed out.
He also stated that the police have information on whether a certain person is wanted or not.
"We only found out later that Jovanović was going through criminal records and that he was responsible for serious crimes in a neighboring country," specified Veljović.
Strengthening regional cooperation
The directors of police administrations also discussed the projects that should be implemented in the coming period.
Veljović also informed Lukač about the results of the work that the Police Directorate achieved in the previous year, as well as in the past period of this year, and the results that indicate the determination and perseverance of the Montenegrin police on the reform path towards European and NATO integration.
"Police in the region are strengthening cooperation, through a series of associations and associations, starting with the Regional Center for Suppression of Cross-Border Crime "SECI", through the project of the International Coordination Units for Law Enforcement "ILECUS" and the Association of Police Chiefs of South-Eastern Europe "SEPCA", the achieved results show that are the product of joint activities of police from the region.
It was especially emphasized that all these projects are practically woven through the architecture of "INTERPOL", "EUROPOL", the Federal Bureau of Investigation "FBI" and the Agency for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking "DEA", Veljović added.
