Furtula in the second final

Montenegro will have two finalists at the European Junior Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, on the last day of the competition. after Marija Vuković in the high jump, Danijel Furtula from Mojkovic also placed among the top 12 in the discus throw.

In the qualifications, he threw the discus 59,55 meters, which is well above the norm of 57,2 meters. How good Danijelo's shot was in the first series (he gave up further throws) is shown by the fact that out of 28 candidates, only the German Benedikt Štinen threw more (60,46).

Furtula confirmed his extraordinary talent last year at the World Championship in Moncton, Canada, when he also reached the finals of the discus throw. In the final, however, he failed to repeat a good shot and finished 12th.

Montenegrin heptathlete, Darko Pešić, after five disciplines, is in 14th place among 22 competitors. The 100 and 400 meter sprint, shot put, and long and high jump disciplines have been completed.

Pešić, who missed the third league European Cup in Reykjavík due to an injury and is not in the best shape, because he only achieved the best personal result in the shot put (15,77). That's why he collected 3.604 points at the half of the six-game event, while the leading Frenchman, Kevin Meyer, has 4.164 points.

The discus final is on Sunday at 15 p.m., while Marija Vuković will take to the runway 35 minutes later.
