From June 10 to 12, the best wrestlers from the Mediterranean countries will fight in Budva for the title of Mediterranean champion. Although registration is ongoing, it is certain that fighters from 16 countries will perform in the Mediterranean Sports Center.
- In the Olympic disciplines of wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman style, 186 competitors registered, which is an exceptional number and a guarantee of quality competition. And not only that, this competition is also an opportunity for our competitors to gain international experience in their country, since this Olympic sport is in its infancy in Montenegro. Along with the competition, a judges' seminar will be held where Montenegrin candidates for judges will be able to get their first titles, as well as the Assembly of the Mediterranean Wrestling Association. In addition to the standard Montenegrin national team members, Vladimir Radosavljević, Predrag Stanjević, Ivan Barco and Mirjana Martinović, they will have the opportunity to gather experience for several other local hopefuls. We also hope that in the coming period there will be money and that our competitors participate in camps under the auspices of FILE - said Velimir Babović, president of the Wrestling Federation of Montenegro.
In addition to Babović, the press conference was attended by the technical organizer Ranko Vukotić and the coordinator of the Organizing Committee Danijela Lukšić.
- We are grateful to the international association FILA for the valuable donation of equipment and technology for organizing this championship, and we hope that the help of the Ministry of Education and Sports, COK and the municipality of Budva will not be missing either. This municipality was recognized as a successful organizer of the World Beach Wrestling Championship last year, so RSCG's reputation in FILA grew, which showed a great willingness to help develop this sport in Montenegro. Of course, she also recognized the desire and actions of the Association, which does everything to popularize and popularize this sport - concluded Vukotić.
