Montenegro expects that Serbia will arrest and extradite Svetozar and Miloš Marović, who were legally convicted in Montenegro and for whom, at the request of Montenegro, international Interpol warrants have been issued, announced the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro, Zoran Pažin.
He said this in response to the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Serbian Government and the Minister of the Interior, Nebojša Stefanović who stated that Montenegrin citizens who are linked to the crackdown on criminal clans are prohibited from entering Serbia.
"I welcome Mr. Stefanović's announcement that Serbia is preparing strong repressive actions against all perpetrators of criminal offenses in Montenegro who could try to avoid justice by fleeing to neighboring Serbia. I expect that these activities in the Republic of Serbia will include the arrest and extradition of Svetozar and Miloš Marović, who have been legally convicted in Montenegro and for whom international Interpol warrants have been issued at the request of Montenegro," said Pažin's announcement.
As he said, Montenegro has not received any information about the actions of the competent authorities of Serbia according to the Interpol warrants in the case of Svetozar and Miloš Marović, even after a year.
"The public statements of the Vice-President of the Government, Stefanović, are a good reason to express my expectation that Mr. Marović, who according to the knowledge of the competent authorities of Montenegro are on the territory of Serbia, will be deprived of their freedom by the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia and will be sent to serve a prison sentence in Montenegro," said Pažin.
He said that the security and judicial authorities of Serbia, as before, will have a reliable partner in Montenegro in the fight against all forms of crime, which, as he said, unfortunately knows no borders.
