Duško Roganović (32) from Cetinje was killed in a horrific head-on collision, which happened around 16.30:XNUMX p.m. on the main road from Cetinje to Podgorica, in the town of Jankovića krs.
Roganović was driving a "golf 2" (CT-AB-675) and was moving from Cetinje to Podgorica when, in the part of the road where there are three carriageways, most likely, he tried to overtake two trucks in front of him.
According to everything, he tried to overtake the truck in a curve in a straight line, and then he violently ran into the Jeep "Audi Q-5" (PG-DR-475), which Nenad Mićunović from Podgorica was coming from the opposite direction.
Eyewitnesses of the serious accident claim that due to the force of the impact, Roganović's car spun on the road, and then there was a minor collision with the truck "Iveko" (DG-AC-929) driven by Miloš Otašević from Danilovgrad.
The victim's car didn't stop there either - the smashed "Golf" hit the front part of the "Mercedes" truck (PG-TB-319), which was coming from Cetinje, and then stopped in the middle of the highway...
The young man was conscious until the hospital
The injured young man was conscious for more than half an hour after the accident, and he died of severe internal injuries shortly after being admitted to the Emergency Block of the Clinical Center.
"He was stuck in the crushed car. We talked to him and tried to get him out, but it didn't work. He was calling someone," said the man from Cetinje, who came across the accident and tried to pull the young man out of the crushed car.
"It was terrible. The driver of the "Golf" overtook us in a curve, and then violently collided with a jeep that was coming from Podgorica. After the impact, it collided with my truck and another one, which was coming from Cetinje in the middle lane. I'm sorry is because of the tragedy," said Miloš Otašević, one of the victims of the serious accident, while waiting for the end of the police investigation that lasted several hours.
In the terrible accident, the front part of Roganović's car was completely destroyed, so that the metal pressed the door and the seat where the young man was. About twenty minutes after the accident, he was pulled out of the car by firefighters from Cetinje, who were cutting the sheet metal of the destroyed "golf".
"He talked to us. And then a little later we were informed that he died in a hospital in Podgorica," said the firefighter, who was waiting for the police to finish the investigation so that he and his colleagues could wash the scattered parts, gasoline, oil...
The jeep driver stopped at the edge
The accident in the Jankovića karst could have been much worse if Nenad Mićunović's jeep, which lost its front wheel after the impact, had not stopped at the very edge of the precipice.
According to the police's suspicions, Mićunović tried to avoid a head-on collision with Roganović's "goof" by running to the right towards the hill, but he failed to avoid the contact. After the direct collision, Mićunović's car lost its front left wheel, and then his jeep flew more than 200 meters below the place where the impact occurred.
"The tracks showed us that he stopped at the very edge of the highway. If he hadn't managed to roll up the steering wheel of the jeep at the last moment, he probably would have flown into the abyss," said the young man, who watched the terrible accident on the road.
Mićunović injured his left leg in the accident and was first transferred to the hospital in Cetinje, and a little later to the hospital "Vaso Ćuković" in Risno, where he spent a long time last night undergoing examinations and filming.
Due to the police investigation, which lasted almost three hours due to the large length of the accident site, traffic on the highway from Podgorica to Cetinje was completely stopped. Because of this, kilometer-long columns formed on both sides of the road, and some bypassed the section by the old road over the Rijeka Crnojevića.
