Montenegrin juniors had a successful performance last weekend at the international "Iliadis Cup" in Greece. Judoka Akademika Tanja Božović once again confirmed her enormous class (she is the senior champion of the Balkans), as she won the bronze medal in the category up to 57 kilograms. In the first round, Božović beat the local contestant Apostolija Tsinioni, and in the second round, the German Jesika Burkert. To enter the final, she was defeated by the winner of the Cup, the German Aleksandra Zvirner. Božović was more successful than the Greek Sofija Tsolani in the fight for bronze.
Unlike her, national team members Vuk Nikčević and Rijad Dedeić lost their medal matches. In the category up to 55 kilograms, Nikčević was better than the Georgian Giorgi Mhedlišvili in the first fight, in the second against the Greek Nugzari Mpalampanidis, and in the fight for the final he lost to the Bulgarian Borislav Janakov. In the battle for bronze, the Belgian Gert Maes was better than Nikčević. Dedeić started his performance up to 81 kilograms with a victory over the Georgian Beko Ratijani, and in the second fight he lost to the German Robin Reibendanac, and in the rematch he "knocked down" the Cypriot Nikola Robert and the Russian Stefan Danijelenko. In the fight for bronze, he was defeated by Fabio Miranda from Italy.
Our juniors did not finish their preparations in Greece by performing at the "Iliadis Cup", where they will improve their form at the international camp until Thursday, April 14.
