Does the world economic crisis, which is already very evident, also mean the internal crisis of the individual?
A crisis, of whatever type, gives color and tone to the experience of the external world, but also of ourselves, and can affect the internal states of an individual: perception, motor skills, attention, memory, thinking, mood as an individual's emotional state, on the affect that is reflected in our behavior and this is exactly what we have to take into account.
Preservation of psychological balance
Preservation of psychological balance within individuals during the current world economic crisis is the most important moment, even more important than the economic crisis itself.
In fact, it is important to understand here that the experience of every experience is subjective and is determined by the prism of our uniqueness that we all carry within us.
Many will find it difficult to accept the fact that we may stop halfway...
We still haven't escaped the anxieties of the transition, we are trying to get closer to Europe and respond to its demands, we have just started to learn a new lifestyle and hoped for a better one, but we have to adapt to some new moments.
Today in the world, and in our country, the perception of financial loss, real or imagined, is in the center of attention, and the loss itself causes more negative feelings in most people than the gain causes positive ones, and most people are worried for this very reason.
Although in a certain sense we have become accustomed to various crises and have excellent immunity, objectively speaking, the very effects of the economic crisis depend on how long it will last.
It affects some more, some less, but it is certain that we all feel it.
It is very important to ask ourselves what and how much our expectations actually were in the process of getting used to a new way of living in the newly emerging modern mass culture.
During the period of sanctions, wars in the region, hyperinflation and social transitions, we lived with shortages, sometimes even in the absence of the most basic things necessary for living, after that came massive lending (I must add "with pleasure"), many took more than they needed was necessary and spent much more than they had, and now we again need deep perseverance and awareness of savings and a new adjustment?!
Today in the world, and in our country, the perception of financial loss, real or imagined, is in the center of attention, and the loss itself causes more negative feelings in most people than the gain causes positive ones, and most people are worried for this very reason.
What is important is the very fact that the crisis is to a significant extent defined by psychological factors, perhaps even 50 percent, while the other half is real.
Namely, if we look at it from the point of view of psychology, when making financial decisions we often do not think rationally, but intuitively and under the influence of emotions, where fear is the strongest emotion. When we are under the influence of fear, the probability on the basis of which we should make decisions is small, that is, it ceases to be important to us.
Become aware of emotions and get to know their nature
It is precisely for this reason that emotions should be made aware, so that they can be handled, because until a person knows the nature of his emotions, he is incapable of making the right decision.
The more we know our emotional states, the more adequate we will be in a position to choose the way we will react in given situations. Without awareness of one's own emotions, managing them is impossible, and the possibility of making a mistake in any aspect of life is great.
Of course, functioning exclusively through the mind, which puts life in a cold, indifferent mold, is completely impossible and rarely anyone can do it, but in any case, we can try to handle our emotions better in order to understand the very nature of the crisis as adequately as possible.
If the field of economics opens the door to psychology, the indispensability of psychology in explaining and predicting human behavior can be confirmed once again.
The danger sometimes lies not so much in the market as in ourselves, because it is precisely the poorly interpreted information shaped by emotions that determine our perception and opinion that can actually lead to a wrong decision and lead to loss in any form.
Of course, functioning exclusively through the mind, which puts life in a cold, indifferent mold, is completely impossible and rarely anyone can do it, but in any case, we can try to handle our emotions better in order to understand the very nature of the crisis as adequately as possible.
Therefore, it is very important to know yourself, that is, to be aware of your own emotional states, so that you do not make wrong choices and make wrong decisions, whether it is business decisions, future financial investments, or just social interaction...
If, for example, someone tells us that there is a possibility that something terrible will happen to someone we care about, close to us, but that the probability of that is small, we will not stop thinking about what could happen. Information that the probability of this event is low and worrying about things that may or may not happen will not help us much either. Fear can alarm our capacities to prepare for eventual changes for the worse, and in that case it has a positive connotation of living.
However, it often happens that fear blocks us and that wrong decisions actually make the situation worse...
Mass psychology
When I'm already talking about the psychological effects in recession conditions, it's also important to mention the phenomenon of mass psychology, which can best be recognized in the money market, where under the influence of blocking fear, a person makes decisions that are not based on relevant information and where we start to behave like everyone else, which may lead to a wrong decision.
In times of crisis, there are also layoffs and then quality people compete with those who work, and there, as before, we have supply and demand, but with an emphasis on competitiveness, which (shouldn't) worry so much, because competition existed long before the announcement of the world economic crisis.
The idea of a job for the whole working life no longer exists, and job insecurity is a basic feature of the modern labor market, which is characterized by the freedom to choose an employer, while creating panic can only make it more difficult, because many companies, just like individuals, will look for ways to deal with in times of crisis.
The syndrome of the absence of care is not what is recommended, although on the one hand every crisis can be a chance for maturity, wisdom and easier coping with later problems, but certainly in favor of making the most correct decisions and reducing possible loss in the conditions of the global economic crisis, it is recommended to preserve psychological balance.
