The traditional international boxing tournament, the Podgorica Trophy, which will gather 60 boxers from 11 countries, will begin tomorrow with the quarter-final fights, the organizers of the event announced.
It is stated that the tournament, which will be held from March 30 to April 1 in the Verde hall, will bring together boxers in the youth competition.
Montenegrin boxers Nenad Marković (up to 56 kg), Edin Alković (up to 56), Stefan Savković (up to 64), Milovan Sekulović (up to 75) and Viktor Mihailović (up to 81) will perform.
The organizer of the tournament, the 15th in a row, will be the Boxing Association of Montenegro, and the technical organizer will be BK Podgorica.
It was announced that the tournament is on the calendar of the World Amateur Boxing Federation.
The quarter-final matches will start tomorrow at 16:1. A day later, at the same time, the semi-finals are scheduled, while the final matches will start at 12 noon on April XNUMX.
Last year, the trophy was won by Petar Liješević.
"For our national team members, the tournament will be another preparation for the upcoming European Championship, which will be held in Italy from April 17 to 26. Coach Boško Drašković gave a chance to our best and most experienced young boxers," the Boxing Association announced.
