The Boxing Association of Montenegro will grant scholarships to eight of the most talented boxers this year, the association announced. It is stated that the selection of scholarship recipients was made by a committee made up of representatives of five clubs.

The scholarship agreement with the Boxing Association was signed by Milovan Sekulović (BK Podgorica), Nenad Marković (BK Podgorica), Stevan savković, (BK Podgorica), Edin Alković (BK Podgorica), Stevan Sjekloća (BK Budva), Miloš Krasnići (BK Budva), Bojana Gojković (BK Budva) and Petar Liješević (BK Budva).

It was announced that Sekulović will receive a monthly stipend of 150 euros, and the others 100 euros each.

The president of the Boxing Association, Blažo Saranović, said that he is proud that the association can announce for the first time that it has its scholarship holders, boxers who represent the future of the noble skill and sport in general in Montenegro.

"Through careful selection, we selected eight boxers from two clubs - Podgorica and Budva, who will receive a scholarship of 150 and 100 euros for the year. I am especially happy that one of the scholarship recipients was a female competitor - Bojana Gojković from Budva," Šaranović said at the conference for journalists.

He expects that the scholarship will be an incentive for the scholarship recipients, but also for other competitors, their coaches and clubs, to continue their work in order not to achieve a result that will separate them from the competition.

"For this purpose, we set aside 10.200 euros out of a total of 65 that we received from the Ministry of Sports based on the competition for the distribution of funds to which we applied with an annual work plan and program and a financial report that was accepted," Saranović said.

He thanked the Ministry of Sports for their understanding and dedicated funds.

Milovan Sekulović, winner of the bronze medal at the 2016 European Junior Championship, said that the scholarship means a lot to him.

"It will help us to train better and prepare as well as possible for the next competitions. I believe that it will motivate us to work even better and do our best to repeat the result of two years ago," said Sekulović.
