Large doses of ibuprofen and similar painkillers can triple the risk of stroke and increase the risk of heart attack if taken regularly, scientists warn.
This is the result of an investigation by Swiss scientists from the University of Bern. The research included 31 clinical trials involving 116.429 patients, the British Medical Journal reported.
Doctors emphasize that the risk of heart attack and stroke exists only for those who take large amounts of ibuprofen and that for a long time.
