The food coloring substance aspartame is harmful and dangerous for the body, according to the results of research by Italian and Danish scientists.
The Danes conducted research on 59.334 pregnant women and proved that the excessive use of sweetened carbonated drinks, which are artificially colored, increases the risk of premature birth of the baby by 29 percent compared to the average.
Consuming just one carbonated drink a day increases the risk of premature birth by 27 percent, and two to three by 35 percent.
The subject of analysis by Italian scientists was only the substance aspartame. Analyzes have shown that mice exposed to this chemical develop liver and lung cancer.
