A test that can detect a single cancer cell among billions of healthy cells was recently discovered by an American team of scientists from Boston, Voice of America reports.
Based on this, doctors will be able to monitor the development of the disease, and at the same time, this test could transform the way of treating patients with various types of cancer, breast, prostate, colon, lung, skin, throat...
Boston scientists hope to start analyzing the practical application of that test already this year, in which they will cooperate with the international health company "Johnson & Johnson".
The test will allow doctors to determine treatment for each patient individually, as it will check whether the number of cancer cells in the body decreases during treatment. They will be able to define the genetic makeup of each patient's cells and treat them according to those results.
