Bold shapes, striking colors, suggestive symbolism that invites thought, evokes emotions and the most diverse associations about man, his essence, animal nature, but also the subtleties of his being and spirit can be the description of the new set of paintings that conquered the space of the Castle of King Nikola in Bar. As part of the winter scene of the Chronicle, an exhibition of the works of the Montenegrin painter Goran Ćetković was opened on Thursday evening.

"Almost in agreement, it was stated that the display of works from the series "Voices of Silence", realized in acrylic and oil on canvas, mostly of large dimensions, fit into this, otherwise specific, exhibition space, like few others. A similar impression was made by the author himself, who after the opening expressed his satisfaction with the bar version of "Voices of Silence". To be honest, I think this is one of the best setups related to my exhibitions. In this space, the pictures simply fit in as well as possible. I'm really overjoyed. This is the continuation of the story that started more than five years ago, when I named the cycle 'Voices of Silence'. I didn't give up that name even now, because it fits the idea and the setting as much as possible from the first day, when I started this story. This, exhibited tonight, represents the latest exhibition of works and the last series in the "Voices of Silence" cycle, and these are literally the latest works, which I am premiering here, Ćetković said.

Although he does not think that the size of the painting is its defining quality, the artist did point out that the new works, compared to the previous ones, attract attention precisely with larger and stronger formats, which, he believes, are more suited to his handwriting and way of working. These are pictures whose center, art historian Dr. Anastazija Miranović said at the opening, is occupied by frontal impossed heads and with their expressive gesticulations, facial expressions, gazes, screams, moans, they break the silence from which they emerge, as ghosts and warnings, as reminders and memories..."

Ćetković describes his leitmotiv expression as a combination of several poetic guidelines.

"I think that my expression cannot be classified in one direction, and that is the opinion of respected art historians from the territory of Montenegro and the surrounding area. It is a combination of expressionism and fantasy; at the same time, each picture is on the border of abstraction, and yet it is figural. So, from some almost abstract form, that character, a face, is born, which with the help of colored symbols, relationships, contrast between dark and light creates a certain dynamic and certainly an emotion", added the artist. Goran Ćetković's installation can be visited in the Castle of King Nikola in the next month, when a new exhibition will be opened as part of the winter scene art program of the Bar Chronicle.
