The exhibition of paintings and drawings by the academic painter Naod Zorić will be opened tonight by the art historian Dr. Anastazija Miranović in Podgorica, in the Modern Gallery at 20 p.m., and on Wednesday at 19 p.m., the promotion of this artist's monograph will be held at the same place, published by "Obodski slova" from Podgorica. and "Printer Makarije" from Belgrade.
Zorić told "Vijesta" that he prepared 34 canvases, mostly of larger formats, and that this is not a retrospective, but a celebration of 30 years of creativity.
The introductory text of the catalog is signed by academician Niko Martinović, the gallery announced. Martinović wrote about Zorić's work, among other things, that he is not "a patron of aesthetics defined by divine harmony and ideal proportions."
"On the contrary, he demonstrates pronounced deformities or disproportions in the creation of characters, focusing on the subject. He strives to evoke the passing of time and man's struggle with fate with the fervor of imagination, and thus create art that resists time," writes Martinović, highlighting "mental images" with "powerfully depicted heads and almost always degenerate hands."
Zorić was born in 1968 in the village of Đurđevića Tara. He finished the painting department at FLU in 1993 in Cetinje, in the class of prof. Dragan Karadžić. In 1995, he completed his postgraduate studies in Belgrade, with prof. Radomir Reljić. He is a member of ULUCG.
