The Government of Montenegro strongly condemns attack on the Embassy of the United States of America (USA) in Podgorica, the safety and security of the embassy staff was not violated, the Government announced.
"The Government of Montenegro strongly condemns last night's incident in which one person was killed by activating explosive devices near the Embassy of the United States of America (USA) in Podgorica. The Minister of Internal Affairs Mevludin Nuhodžić and the director of the Police Administration Slavko Stojanović visited the site before noon today and visited the Embassy U.S. On that occasion, as well as in other contacts of Montenegrin officials with representatives of the U.S., regret regarding the attack and solidarity with the U.S. was expressed, and our firm position was emphasized that this event will not and cannot worsen the high level of security and safety of diplomatic missions and the overall security situation in Montenegro," the Government announcement states.
The announcement adds that the competent authorities are making every effort to shed light on this case.
