The lawyers of the famous American singer R. Kelly have their hands full these days. The singer faces new sex-trafficking charges in New York and has pleaded not guilty.
The "I Believe I Can Fly" hitmaker, who is currently behind bars, made the plea via Internet connection from a federal prison in Chicago. Kelly has been serving time there since last year, having been charged with racketeering in US District Court in New York. He was also accused of sexually abusing two underage girls who attended his concerts.
Meanwhile, in Chicago, according to a federal indictment, the singer is also accused of rigging the trial with his longtime manager Darrell McDavid in the child pornography case that was brought against him in 2008. McDavid denied the charges.
There are also allegations from Minnesota against Kelly, alleging that he asked a teenage girl for sex in exchange for an autograph she asked for in 2001.
