Bogdan Fatić, the holder of the DPS list "Berane wins", reported to the Berane police that an unknown person called him from an unknown number, asking for money "to undertake some activity," the Police Administration stated.
"As he indicated, BF ended the phone call, and then he received an SMS message from this number saying to take something to a certain person or else this person will publish the list to the public. The prosecutor was also informed about this event, who suggested that sent an initiative to issue an order to exclude the difference between these two numbers, which was done," the police said.
As the police said, four reports have been submitted to the Berane Security Center so far, which related to alleged criminal acts against electoral rights, i.e. the so-called vote buying.
"When it comes to the report of NV, an activist of Democratic Montenegro, which related to buying votes in favor of the coalition "Berane Pobejeđa" in the house of GR in the village of Budimlja, we inform you that the police officers of the Department for Suppression of Economic Crime, together with to the officers of CB Berana, acted on the report and discovered that it was not founded. Namely, the police officers, based on the report of the NV, conducted a search of the building - the house and other premises of the GR in the Budimlja settlement, which did not find any items and items that can be confiscated in accordance with the CPC, i.e. items and cases that would indicate the commission of criminal offenses against electoral rights. Statements in the capacity of citizens were taken from the owner of GR, as well as from four other persons who were found at his house. The state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed about everything who did not order the taking of further measures and actions and who did not qualify the event as a criminal offense against electoral rights. The case files will be submitted to the prosecutor," the police state.
And in the other three cases, as they add, the police undertook activities within their jurisdiction to verify the allegations.
"Namely, the MP from Budva and the NO from Berane, activists of the Democratic Montenegro, reported that in the house of RG in the settlement of Buče and in the house of HA in the settlement of Donje Luge in Berane, they also put pressure on the voters in favor of the coalition "Berane wins" in a way that money is offered for votes in the first house and votes are bought in the second. In both cases, the competent prosecutor was informed, who ordered the police to secure both locations until the search. The police then searched both locations, during which no items and objects were found that would indicated the commission of these criminal acts. Statements were taken from the owners of these two houses, as well as from other persons who were found there, in their capacity as citizens. After the collected information, the prosecutor was informed about everything, who did not order the taking of other measures and actions, that is, who did not qualify reported event as KD against election rights. The case files will be delivered to the prosecutor," the police point out.
Also, the police said that the previously reported "Reno" without license plates was not found in front of the Cultural Center.
"Officials of the Department for Suppression of Economic Crime have also checked allegations of misuse of the "Renault Senic" motor vehicle, without license plates, and that the vehicle is parked in front of the Cultural Center in Berane. The vehicle was not found at the mentioned location, which was also reported to the state the prosecutor in the ODT in Berane," added the police.
The Police Administration noted that the police will submit criminal charges to the competent prosecutor against all persons who are found to have falsely reported criminal offenses against electoral rights.
"We warn political parties not to falsely report criminal offenses because they will be held accountable before the law. On the other hand, the police will act upon any report related to criminal offenses against electoral rights and undertake activities to verify the allegations and of course file criminal charges reports against everyone for whom there is reasonable suspicion that they have committed these criminal acts," the police conclude.
