The UDAS Banjaluka Cultural Center recently closed an exhibition of graphics by the young academic artist from Bar, Nataša Drešić, who presented herself to the audience for the seventh time. This exhibition, which was opened by the painter Srđan Kosić, was the fifth exhibition within the cultural manifestation "Autumn Graphics 2017" as chosen by the Art Council of UDAS based on a public competition, in which the graphic drawings of five other artists from BiH, Serbia and Montenegro passed. .

"I had a great reaction from the audience and I am satisfied with how the exhibition went. At the opening, there were mostly students and professors from their academy, graphic artists, and that was important to me because of the exchange of experience in work and techniques, it was a real refreshment because the audience was introduced to the very concept of graphics," Drešić told "Vijesti" after return from Banja Luka.

At this exhibition, a part of the opus is presented - about twenty prints in the technique of lithography and serigraphy from the cycle "Self-realization". In the catalog of the Banja Luka exhibition, art historian Milica Bezmarević wrote that Nataša creates her creative expression by nurturing and respecting the primary understanding of graphic uniqueness "stemmed from the legacy of her centuries-old tradition".

"That tradition implies patient and dedicated commitment to the demanding technical processes of lithography, algraphy or serigraphy. In the current time of modern technologies, rapid reproduction and mass production, such an approach to graphic work is increasingly becoming an exception, especially in the generation of younger artists to which the author belongs, and in this sense, her work acquires another shade of seriousness in relation to the entire process of creation." Bezmarević pointed out.

The artist pointed out to "Vijesta" that the general public is not that familiar with graphics, and that they often confuse it with drawing.

"Essentially, in our country, painting is the most represented, and everything is connected to it, and graphics can be used to show both drawing and painting techniques, there is no difference at all, most graphic artists strive for drawing expression, but they can be combined. I apply both drawing and painting, it's not simply part of the drawing gesture that I have, I just got to the point where I currently deal with graphics, because through them I can express what I do, that inner landscape", added Drešić.

The "Vijesti" interlocutor is already preparing a new exhibition, and the new cycle does not yet have a name, "it will come by itself later, the themes are again related to some unconscious content". On the regional level, in 2018, Drešić already has an appointment for an exhibition in the art salon of the Cultural Center of Novi Sad, and she also received an invitation from the Grafički kolektiv from Belgrade.

CANU scholarship holder as a junior

Drešić completed her basic and specialist studies at the FLU in Cetinje at the graphics department in the class of prof. Anke Burić, M.Sc. During 2015, she was on a study trip to the "Ecole Superieure d'Art de Lorraine" in Metz, France, and so far she has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the CANU scholarship for encouraging the artistic youth of Montenegro for 2017.
