Today, the government appointed Milan Tomić as the director of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (ZIKS).
In July, Tomić was appointed acting director of Montenegrin prisons, and yesterday he was entrusted with a five-year mandate.
Tomić's until recently assistant, Slađan Raičković, was also in the running for the director's position.
"Vijesti" announced at the beginning of December that Raičković resigned from the assistant position and applied for the position of director.
Sources from the Government then unofficially said that Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin sees Tomić in that position.
Back in July, a long-time police officer was sent to Spuž to solve the bad security situation as soon as possible, so that the confrontation between the criminal clans would not escalate and behind bars.
It was his second time in management positions at ZIKS, as in 2012 he was appointed assistant to the then director Miljan Perović, whom he replaced at the head of the prison in July.
The officials of the Spuša prison yesterday told "Vijesta" that Tomić has made several good moves in the last few months, and that since then there have been no major incidents among the prisoners.
