Pamuk: Montenegro will surely find a place in one of my novels

The Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk said that Montenegro and everything he saw during his stay there will surely find a place in one of his novels.

During his stay in Montenegro, Pamuk visited the Ministry of Culture and spoke with Dragica Milić, general director of the Directorate for Cultural and Artistic Creativity.

The Ministry of Culture announced that Pamuk expressed his enthusiasm for Montenegro and the regions he visited.

As he said, the mountains in Montenegro are not only natural beauties, but also represent an important part of its national identity.

"He expressed a special interest in the history of Montenegro, which he got to know in more detail during a visit to the National Museum. He also stated that Montenegro and everything he saw during his stay in it will surely find a place in one of his novels," says the announcement.

During his visit to Cetinje, Pamuk visited King Nikola's Palace, the Art Museum of Montenegro and the Icon of the Virgin Filermosa.

Milić stated that Montenegro and Turkey have good relations, especially in the field of culture, and that Pamuk's visit represents a special bond between the two nations.

Pamuk was in Montenegro at the invitation of the publishing house "Nova knjiga", and the sponsors of the event are the Government of Montenegro, the Ministry of Culture, the Capital of Cetinje and the Municipality of Bijelo Polje.
