"One of today's most important writers, the Turkish writer and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Orhan Pamuk, will open the tenth Winter Book Fair "Booka 2017" in the hall of the Millennium Mall of Montenegro, starting at 20 p.m.," said Jovana Petković, spokesperson for the publishing house. "New book" at yesterday's press conference. Pamuk will stay in Montenegro from December 14 to 17.
During the opening ceremony, Pamuk will be formally presented with the "Literary Flame" international literary award, which was founded in 2015 by the Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa and the "Nova knjiga" IC. Vargas Ljosa is the first winner of this literary award and the honorary president of the jury. The winner of the award for 2016 is the famous Italian writer Claudio Magris.
After the presentation of the award and the opening of "Booka", the first program of the Salon will be held - a literary evening, a conversation with Pamuk, which will be led by Jelena Krsmanović, the editor of this publishing house.
Krsmanović announced that the sales part of the Salon will be located on the first floor of the Mall of Montenegro, where from the opening until December 31, from 22 a.m. to 50 p.m., visitors will be able to buy books from publishers from Montenegro and the region at prices with discounts of up to XNUMX percent, and is free.
"Given that this year we are organizing the jubilee X Winter Book Salon and celebrating 18 years of our Nova Knjiga Publishing House, the program of the Salon will be in the spirit of our publishing house, and according to the taste of the readers," she pointed out.
The first literary evening will be held on December 18 at 20 pm on the topic "Literature and gender: The role and place of female writers in Montenegrin literature", Nataša Nelević, Slavica Perović, Lena Ruth Stefanović and Snežana Tomanović will speak.
"In the previous period, our readers showed great interest in the books of Brankica Damjanović and the new novel by Vuk Drašković, so they will be guests of the Salon, which we will host at the request of the readers," Krsmanović pointed out.
"16. December at 20 p.m., Brankica Damjanović will tell us about her life experiences, which she translated into books and thus shared with her many readers. A conversation with Vuk Drašković about the new novel "Who Killed Katarina" and his entire literary work will be held on December 21 at 20 p.m., Krsmanović announced. Marija Perović, Siniša Jelušić and Janko Ljumović will talk about literature as a director's challenge on December 20 at 20 pm.
"We will honor reading on December 22 at 20 p.m. with a talk on the topic 'What is a book if we don't open it?' when Ksenija Popović, Balša Brković and Nikola Nikolić will talk about the phenomenon of reading and their reading experience", they announce from "Nova knjiga" and add:
"As in previous years, during the Winter Salon we will introduce our readers to the new editions of our company. On December 23 at 20 p.m., a literary evening will be held where the book "Conversations" by Ranko Pavićević will be presented. Đorđe Brujić, Todor Živaljević Velički and the author will talk about the book," announced Krsmanović.
The day after that, on Sunday, December 24 at 20 p.m., Bogić Rakočević's new book "Returning Home" will be promoted. Conversations about poetry will be held on December 25 at 20 pm with Tanja Bakić, Dragana Mrkić, Goran Danilović.
Aleksandar Bečanović will promote his new novel "Poremećaj" on December 26 at 20 p.m., and in addition to the author, Balša Brković will speak about the book.

On Thursday, the Nobel laureate will have a meeting with the organizers of the Thirteenth International Podgorica Book and Education Fair, which will be held in the spring of next year.
"In that meeting, he will be presented with the importance of this cultural manifestation and its contribution to the affirmation of literature and art, both in Montenegro and beyond." One of the topics will be related to Pamuk's help in organizing this event and hosting some of the world's most important writers," Petković points out.
Already on Friday, Pamuk will be a guest of Bijelo Polje, where he will meet with the mayor Aleksandar Žurić and visit the important church of St. Apostle Peter and the city mosque.
"In the Poet's Park, he will attend the unveiling of a plaque with his name on it. In cooperation with JU Ratković's evening of poetry, a literary evening will be held in the afternoon, during which Orhan Pamuk will talk about his new novel 'The Redhead', which was published by the publishing house Nova knjiga", says Petković.
A day later, Pamuk will visit the Money Museum in Cetinje and attend a large scientific symposium on his work, at which eminent university professors from our country and region will speak: Jelena Joković, Alena Ćatović, Mirjana Marinković, Aleksandar Jerkov, Jasmina Ninkov, Sabina Bakšić, Vladimir Gvozden, Aleksandar Gatalica, Bojan Jović, Mina Đurić, Tomislav Brlek, Sonja Tomović Šundić, Siniša Jelušić, Aleksandra Vuković and Goran Radonjić.
