Winter is the time when most citizens get the flu and when colds attack people with weakened immunity, which can bring many inconveniences to all of us.
That is why otorhinolaryngologists discover the biggest mistakes we make, which slow down our body's recovery after colds and flu, reports Femina.
About 95 percent of sore throats are caused by viruses, so there is no point in taking antibiotics. Viruses also cause unpleasant symptoms such as a red and swollen throat, and if yellow mucus or white deposits or spots appear, it is probably a bacterial infection.
The virus will affect the entire respiratory system and airways, not just the throat. In both cases, it is necessary to take care of the hydration of the body and avoid alcoholic beverages, as well as coffee, which causes dehydration.
Using salt water helps with a sore throat, and you can prepare it by putting two spoons of salt in half a liter of water and storing it in the refrigerator, because cold substances have a soothing effect.
To quickly remove a sore throat, it is good to use an anesthetic in a spray, and if you have a headache or fever, the best helper in that case will be paracetamol.
If your throat hurts, you should refrain from speaking and smoking cigarettes. Children can become dehydrated very quickly, and if the temperature lasts longer than 24 hours, they should be taken to a doctor, reports Radio Sarajevo.
